We've profiled five fascinating global women in May skirt! Their lives and work are global in scope--and they live right here in Richmond. Carrie Hartwell, for one, counsels refugees who arrive in Richmond from countries in crisis. Many are teenagers, who receive refugee status from the United Nations before they head to the U.S. They arrive without parents, family, or friends. If they're lucky, they're placed in a healthy foster home. If they're very fortunate, they find their way to Carrie.
