Jason Mraz

Thursday, November, 20, 2008
You can't turn on a radio these days without hearing Jason Mraz singing the highly-addictive "I'm Yours". It's got a Reggae-pop lilt, smart lyrics and charm to spare. Jason, who grew up in Mechanicsville and made his musical theater debut at Dogwood Dell, has become a worldwide-smash-hit-major league-rock star. He's sold out Radio City Music Hall and been invited to play in Oslo when they hand out the Noble Prizes. And that little ditty "I'm Yours" has gone platinum. There's a U-Tube video of Jason playing a Rolling-Stones sized crowd in Sweden. He'll be home for Thanksgiving and playing two shows at The National. So of course, I am dying to get our man Jason into the magazine. I've called his agent. I've had Eliza's friends e-mailing requests to his website. I've left voice messages. I've e-mailed everybody but his third-grade teacher (but if I could get her name...) In short, I've put out the ask. So, you're probably asking, "How can I help?" If you, too, would like to see Jason Mraz in skirt!, send him a friendly e-mail c/o his website: info@jasonmraz.com. And don't forget to say welcome home.

Hey Constance, I was thinking about you and your family and your quest for Jason Mraz over the Thanksgiving. I'm guessing your family had to stalk him with you over the holidays. Well - did you have any luck? Will we be seeing Jason in a skirt any time soon in the Richmond edition of Skirt? Happy Holidays - Tyler

I'd love to tell you we spent Thanksgiving camped in the Mraz front yard, waiting like paparazzi to snap a photo. But here at skirt!, we're far too polite for that and we don't much like camping anyway. And besides, I had cousins in town from Boulder. My family was busy showing the Colorado-oudoorsy-kayaking relatives that we, too, are fresh-air fiends. So there was much canoeing and woodsy hiking and brush-clearing and jogging--punctuated by turkey, pecan pie, and Bloody Marys. Frankly, I'm exhausted. If anybody saw Jason at The National please do tell us all about it!
