My work: Copy editor at PUNCH and teacher at Ashtanga Yoga Richmond, both in Carytown.

 

 

My passion: Ashtanga Yoga.

 

 

My hometown: I grew up in Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and New Jersey, so, I don't have one hometown, per se.

 

 

I’m thinking about: My next trip to India.

 

 

What keeps me awake at night: I'd like to say world peace, but honestly, it's my wedding plans.

 

 

My favorite possession: My Buddha statue from Thailand.

 

 

I am guilty of: Eating ice cream right before I go to bed...often.

 

 

My favorite body part: My brain.

 

 

The nickname I wish I had: Mrs. President

 

 

The worst idea I’ve ever had: Topless sunbathing.

 

 

I wish I’d known: That I'd always be the shortest girl in the room. 

 

 

One thing I never want to do again: Work at the calendar kiosk in the mall in New Jersey.

 

 

The food I could eat every day: Chapati!

 

 

Words I live by: Live in the present moment.

 

 

My mother always said: Suck in your stomach.

 

 

I can’t live without:  Earplugs.

 

 

If I could be totally wild, I would: Double dip my celery in the vegetable dip at work functions.

 

 

Right now I’m reading: The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao (it's helping me brush up on my Spanish slang).

 

 

The one item that has changed my life:  My yoga mat.

Last major purchase: A brooch from Alchemy made by local artist Knowledge Customs.

If I were a superheroine I would be: A Powerpuff girl (I'm excellent at fighting diabolical chimps).

 

 

The most important thing I ever lost: My passport.

 

 

The best thing I ever won: $120 in Atlantic City at the slots.

 

 

My best friend says I am: A genius.

 

 

I still can’t get the hang of:  Math.

 

 

The world would be a better place, if only:  We all took siestas.

 

 

I’d like to learn to: Tight-rope walk.

 

 

My first job: Data entry for the U.S. Government while living in the Philippines.

 

 

Whose diary would you most like to read?  The Dalai Lama's.

 

 

Always...look both ways—even on the one-way streets in Richmond--because people are crazy.
